• How does self storage work?

  Self storage is used by people and businesses to store the things that matter to them safely and securely. Our storage units come in a range of sizes (we have a handy guide to help you estimate which one is right for you). Our terms are flexible. And our friendly colleagues in store will guide you through the process.

  • Start by selecting a MORE! store. We’re adding new locations and they all have easy access for you to drop off your things.
  • Next, choose a room size. Our handy guide can help you with this. But don't worry about getting it exactly right, you can always swap later.
  • Reserve your storage unit online. A small deposit guarantees your room and price.
  • That's it, you’re all ready to move in. Just bring two forms of ID with you to the store (one must have your photo and one must have your address) and we'll take you through the paperwork.
• Where can I find self storage near me?

  We’re expanding our network of self storage, building on the success of our existing stores – where our staff have been helping people store the things that matter to them. If we don’t yet have a store near you, it’s worth checking back soon because we’re growing all the time.

• What can I store?

  People and businesses use our self storage for all sorts of things: house contents such as furniture, personal belongings they don’t want to part with, business stock or materials. Your things will be safe and secure thanks to a climate controlled environment, monitored CCTV and secure PIN code access.

• What can’t I store?

  You’re welcome to store anything that’s, legal, safe, won’t make a mess and doesn’t require specialist handling or storage. You can’t store:

  • Hazardous goods, toxic materials
  • Pollutants, contaminants, waste
  • Perishable goods, live animals, living plants
  • Cash and securities, illegal goods
  • Explosives, firearms, ammunitions

Renting a storage unit

• What size unit do I need?

  We know that estimating the amount of space you need and choosing a storage unit can be tricky. Our handy guide will help you find the right size storage unit, and because our self storage is flexible you can always swap to a different size later.

• How do I reserve a storage unit?

  Simply call the friendly team at your local More! store and they’ll take care of everything for you. Or you can use our handy guide to help you find the right size storage unit and then reserve online. Reserving secures your unit and your price but, don’t worry, you can always change your mind.

• How much does personal or business storage cost?

  Self storage is an affordable option because it’s so flexible. You rent just the space you need, for just as long as you need it. After you’ve selected the size of storage unit you need (with help from our handy room size guide) you can get a price and reserve online before our helpful team in store guide you through the rest of the process.

• How do I pay for my storage unit?

  After you’ve selected the size of storage you need (with help from our handy guide) you can get a price and reserve online before our helpful team in store guide you through the rest of the process. You can pay by card online to reserve your space. Then you can set up a regular direct debit to pay the rental for your storage unit. We also accept credit and debit cards.

• How long can I stay?

  There’s no long-term commitment with More! Self Storage, just a rolling 28-day contract. So you can keep your storage unit for as long as you like, or give it up when you no longer need it. Remember, though, you can always switch to a different size if you find you've got more, or fewer, things to store.

• Is there a notice period?

  If you don’t need your storage unit any longer, you only have to give 28 days’ notice to end your contract. If you’ve still got some things to store, just not as many as before, why not switch to a smaller unit? We have a range of sizes available and swapping is easy.

• Will my things be safe in self storage?

  Using our self storage gives you peace of mind that your things will be safe and secure. Our stores have monitored CCTV. And you secure your unit with your own padlock, so only you have a key.

• Who can access the storage unit?

  Our security, which includes monitored CCTV, means that only people you approve can access your storage unit. All you have to do is let us know who, aside from you, needs access and we’ll set it up for them. Our staff are on site during access hours.

• What happens if I need more, or less, space later?

  It’s easy to swap between sizes of storage unit – just let us know how much space you think you might need and our team will help you find a unit that’s right for you.

• Do I need to call ahead to get access to my storage unit?

  No, More! Self Storage staff will be on site during access hours. If you have any questions, our friendly team are always happy to help – either on the phone or face-to-face at the store.

• Are there any hidden extras?

  No, the price for your storage unit includes VAT. The only additional costs will be for the protection of your items in storage.

  You’ll need to either show us proof of the insurance in place for your goods or use our StoreProtect arrangements to protect your goods, which we will explain further when you come in store. You’ll also need to provide your own padlock (you can always buy one from the store when you arrive).

Getting ready to move in

• What identification do I need to bring with me?

  When you come to the store to start renting your unit, you will need to bring two forms of ID with you: one must have your photo, and one must show your address. We’ll sort out all the paperwork while you’re in store, so all you need to do then is load up your storage unit.

• Do you sell boxes and packaging materials?

  Yes we do! When you put your things into self storage we recommend using strong double walled boxes, plenty of bubble wrap for more delicate things and covers to protect furniture. All of these are available in store. You can see what we have available in our box shop.

• Do I need my own padlock for my storage unit?

  The door of your storage unit will be secured by a padlock. You can buy one from the store when you start your rental or bring your own. 

• Do I need to arrange protection for my goods in store?

  To make sure that everyone is protected from unexpected events, you need to arrange protection for the items you store with us. We can take care of this at the store – someone will guide you through the process and the costs will depend on the value of your items. Alternatively, you can make your own arrangements, however we will need to see proof of the cover.

• Is it easy to unload at your stores?

  Outside our stores, you’ll find plenty of space to park and unload. Worried about your things getting wet? Our covered loading bays will help you and your things stay dry. And if you have one of our outside large storage containers, you can drive your vehicle right up to your storage unit. 

• Do you have trolleys and lifts available?

  Inside our stores there are lifts to all the floors and trolleys you can use to help move your things smoothly into your storage unit. We recommend dismantling bulky items such as furniture if you can, and avoiding packing too many heavy items, such as books, in one box.

• What happens if my things won’t fit in the storage unit I’ve reserved?

  We understand that estimating the space you’ll need can be tricky. We have a handy guide to help you find a storage unit that’s right for you, but don’t worry if it turns out not to be the right size. Our colleagues in store are used to this and will help you find a space to fit your things.

• Will there be staff available to help with any questions?

  Yes. Experienced colleagues in your local store can help you find the right size storage unit, guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have.

• How soon can I move in?

  In a hurry? You can move your things into your storage unit today, as long as you arrive during the store’s business hours and have ID. (You’ll need to bring two forms of ID with you: one must have your photo, and one must show your address.)

• What if I've reserved a unit but I’m not ready to move in as planned?

  Don’t worry, we know things don’t always go to plan. Just get in touch to let us know what’s happening and we’ll extend your reservation so you can move in later.
